Acceptable use policy

The short version: don't use Kairo to hurt people, break the law, or harm the Service. Kairo is a productivity and coordination tool — the AUP keeps it that way for everyone.
Where Kairo is offered
Kairo is currently available only in the United States and its territories (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, US Minor Outlying Islands). Using a VPN, proxy, false attestation, or other circumvention method to access the Service from outside an eligible territory is a violation of this AUP and may result in account termination without notice. International expansion will be announced through the waitlist and updated Terms.
Don't
- Use Kairo to harass, threaten, intimidate, dox, or stalk anyone — in personal notes, team chat, direct messages, or shared spaces.
- Store, post, or distribute content that is illegal where you are or where the content is hosted, including content that exploits or endangers minors.
- Attempt to access another user's account, content, or team workspace without authorization — including guessing invite codes, brute-forcing credentials, or exploiting bugs.
- Use a team workspace to evade per-user accountability — team admins are responsible for what happens inside their team.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service, except via official APIs and within published rate limits.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or impose an unreasonable load on the Service, our infrastructure, or other users — including denial-of-service, traffic flooding, malware, or exploitation of vulnerabilities.
- Use AI features (Copilot, capture parsing, quiz/flashcard generation, note AI, summaries) to generate or distribute content that violates the law, violates the rights of others, impersonates a person without consent, or produces sexual content involving minors.
- Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) or commercial solicitations through any Kairo channel — including invites, share emails, team chat, and DMs.
- Collect, store, or process personal information about other people through Kairo without a lawful basis and the rights you need under applicable privacy law.
- Use the Service in a country or to a person on a U.S. or international sanctions or denied-parties list, or in violation of any export-control law.
- Resell, sublicense, white-label, or rebrand Kairo without a separate written agreement with us.
- Use the Service for safety-critical decisions where failure could result in injury, loss of life, or significant financial or legal harm without independent verification.
Enforcement
We may warn, restrict features, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate this AUP. For serious or repeat violations — or where required by law — we may act without prior notice. When practicable we'll give you a chance to export your data before termination.
