Kairo is not for children under 13.

Age requirements

• You must be at least 13 years old to create a Kairo account in the United States, and at least the age of digital consent under your local law elsewhere (typically 13–16 in the EEA).
• You must be at least 18 years old, or have your parent or legal guardian's permission, to enter into a paid subscription.
• School accounts created by a school district or university for its students follow the school's own consent flow under FERPA or analogous frameworks.

What we do if we learn a child under 13 has signed up

We will:

• Disable the account immediately upon verification.
• Delete the associated personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
• Notify the account's contact email of the action taken.

If you are a parent or guardian

If you believe a child under 13 has created a Kairo account or provided personal information to us, contact privacy@heykairo.io with the details (the email address used, approximately when, any other identifying information). We will act on the report within 5 business days.

School-issued accounts

Where a school provisions Kairo accounts for students (e.g., college-level Canvas integration), the school acts as the data controller. Kairo processes student data as a school service provider in accordance with the school's instructions and applicable education-privacy law (FERPA in the United States, and equivalent frameworks elsewhere). Schools may request a copy of our FERPA-compatible processing addendum by emailing legal@heykairo.io.

No targeted advertising to anyone

Kairo does not run advertising of any kind. We do not profile or target users — child, adult, or otherwise. There is no advertising identifier on file.

Updates to this policy

We will update this page if our practices around children's data change. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and announced to the account owner via email.
